Media Wall Installation in Oldham

Oldham's hillside terraces and stone-built homes give us some of the most characterful chimney breasts we work with anywhere in the North West. In Saddleworth villages like Lees, and further out towards Delph and Dobcross, original stone fireplaces and deep recesses are common, and we design media walls that respect that character while still delivering a modern fitted fire and concealed TV setup.

Closer to Oldham town centre and in Chadderton and Failsworth, the housing is a mix of traditional terraces and inter-war semis, and here we see a fairly even split between fireplace media walls and freestanding designs, depending on whether the original chimney breast is still in place. Shaw and Royton, to the north of the town, have a good number of larger family homes where we regularly fit full acoustic or slatted wood feature walls.

Saddleworth in particular has become one of our favourite areas to work in. The combination of stone cottages, exposed beams, and larger converted barns calls for a more considered material choice, often oak or walnut slats rather than painted MDF, to sit comfortably alongside the existing character of the building.

We travel out to Oldham and Saddleworth regularly as part of our North West coverage, and because the area includes both dense terraced streets and more rural village settings, we always start with a home visit to understand the specific character of your room before proposing a design.

Oldham's range of property types, from Saddleworth's stone cottages and converted barns to Chadderton and Failsworth's inter-war semis, means a one-size approach genuinely does not work here. We have built up specific experience with the deep original fireplaces and exposed beams typical of the Saddleworth villages, which is a different design conversation to a Failsworth semi with a plain plastered wall.
